About Christine

Are you looking for inspiration to make changes in your life?  Would you like little nudges to challenge you to do things differently so you can lead a more fulfilling life?

Congratulations!  You’ve come to the right place!

This blog launched in 2016 to help people just like you change your daily life for the better!

My name is Christine Presley Garton, and I’ve always known I want to help others.  My mother loved to tell stories about how as a child I would keep the peace between neighborhood kids, bring home every stray dog I found, and help others any way I could.  Once I reached high school, teens I barely knew would confide their deepest, darkest fears and struggles to me.  When I asked why they told me these things, they usually told me they felt like they could trust me or that I had an inviting face.  Those were the true beginnings of this journey I’ve been on for the last 30 years.  One result of my journey is this blog.  I hope my experiences over the years can help you on your journey.

I recently left a career of over 20 years working with children, youth, and adults in Presbyterian churches and summer camps to fulfill a long-time dream of being a work-at-home mom (so I no longer have the security of a steady paycheck-yikes!!!!!).  Many of my church experiences with people involved elements of life coaching and spiritual companionship.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master’s of Divinity, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education.  I am also a Certified Life Coach from the Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching (www.fiacoaching.com).  I tell you this not to flaunt my degrees and experience; instead, I want you to know I have a lifelong passion for these topics, so much so that I’m still paying back grad school loans!

I’m a wife, mom, Presbyterian, avid dog lover, Duke fan (go Blue Devils!), Philadelphia Phillies fan, creative type, a loud and goofy talkative southern girl turned happy Philadelphia transplant, blogger, life coach, spiritual companion, and self-proclaimed self-help book junkie.  I look forward to sharing this journey with you and learning more about your own journey!
